Baxendale Care Home Activities

Care Home Activities

Living life to the full

Getting old isn’t what it used to be. For our residents it’s about keeping their minds stimulated and their bodies active, which is exactly what we work towards at Baxendale Care Home. Our large-print library is in constant use, and conversation in the lounges and dining room is still loud, lively and full of laughter.

We have a well thought out and extensive programme of care home activities that includes coffee mornings, professional entertainers, movement to music, church services, buffet lunches, bingo and quizzes. For the many residents who enjoy a day out, we also organise trips to the theatre, to local religious centres – and even to the pub.

We believe in any excuse for our residents to enjoy themselves, so we celebrate themed events throughout the year. Our Annual Garden Party is one highlight, as are Halloween, Christmas and other religious festivals observed by our residents. Birthdays are also an opportunity to make our residents feel special and, wherever we can, we involve family, friends and staff in the events. The proceeds from our Winter Fayre provides funds for residents’ presents and extra luxuries during the year.
